Keep youth engaged and interested in the global work of the Church through advocacy, fair trade and other CRS activities. Use these activities as follow-up or supplements to your Food Fast.

Be an advocate by:

Joining Catholics Confront Global Poverty to stay informed about global poverty issues and advocate to end hunger, disease, conflict, and other issues that affect the lives of our brothers and sisters worldwide.

Organizing a group visit to the local office of your member of Congress to discuss with him/her the issues you learned about during your Food Fast and what we as a nation can do to address them.

Encouraging your classmates, friends, family and fellow parishioners to join you to write letters, send postcards and write to the media to bring more attention to these global issues.

Help your community, Help your world: Raise Money Right with a CRS fair trade chocolate fundraiser

Fundraising is about more than dollars. It’s about bringing your community together to support worthy projects that improve our lives. Your fundraiser can have twice the impact when you Raise Money Right. A Raise Money Right Fair Trade chocolate fundraiser helps your community raise funds while helping cocoa farmers around the world have a better life. Now what could be sweeter than that?

You can Raise Money Right as a part of your Food Fast or for a separate project in your community. To learn more, visit CRS Fair Trade Chocolate.

CRS Fair Trade helps you to buy great coffee, tasty chocolate and beautiful handcrafts. Your support of a fair trade marketplace promotes fair wages and human dignity.

Invite a CRS Global Fellow to your Food Fast to spread the news about solidarity

Are you looking to enhance your Food Fast? Then invite a CRS Global Fellow to visit your youth group and community and share how CRS is helping those who are hungry overseas.

As you may know, CRS has more than 70 priests, deacons, and seminarians committed to spreading the message about our gospel call to global solidarity. The majority of our Global Fellows have witnessed firsthand how the work of CRS helps bring joy and assistance to those in need around the world.

To invite a Global Fellow to your parish or community call 410-951-7336 or email msansone@crs.org.

Go Global With Youth!

CRS Education: Going Global with Youth is a gateway to lesson plans, simulation activities, prayer services, stories, and opportunities that looks at global issues through the lens of Catholic social teaching. Use these resources to continue guiding young people to see the world with new eyes and to challenge them to respond to our faith’s call to global solidarity.
